Steamed Egg

A delicate, velvety egg custard infused with the subtle umami of Hondashi®, creating a light yet deeply savory dish. As the eggs gently cook in the earthenware pot, they transform into a cloud‑like texture that contrasts beautifully with the bright pop of scallions and the nutty aroma of sesame oil. Perfectly balanced between silky and springy, this comfort food is both soothing and elegant.

INGREDIENTS

3 Each – Eggs, beaten
½ Cup – Water
½ tsp – Hondashi®
½ tsp – Salt
Garnish – Scallions, sliced
Garnish – Sesame oil

HONDASHI® Bonito Soup Stock 2.11 oz Bottle

DIRECTIONS

1. In a mixing bowl add Eggs, water, Hondashi®, and salt.
2. Place a 2 cup earthenware pot over medium heat.
3. Add the egg mixture to the pot and stir continuously until eggs are ¾ of the way cooked.
4. Cover and allow to cook for 2-3 minutes
5. Remove the lid and garnish with scallions and sesame oil.
