Classic Japanese miso soup featuring fresh clams simmered in an umami‑rich Hondashi® broth, finished with tender miso and a bright garnish of scallion.

INGREDIENTS

2 cups water

7 oz clams in shell, cleaned

⅔ tsp Hondashi®

2 tbsp miso
-
2 tbsp green onion, sliced
DIRECTIONS

Place water, clams, and Hondashi® in a pot over medium heat and bring to a simmer.

Reduce heat to low, and when the clams open, skim off any foam.

Dissolve the miso into the broth, then remove the pot from heat.

Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with green onion.
